Here is my report on the 8 cell 1500 elite. I discharged it first and then charged it using the AC charger that came with the plane. Took forever to charge. After it was done I took it up. It was pretty windy and all I did was basically hover it over me at around 100 ft. I kept the throttle at around 60 to 70% to hold altitude. I goosed it a few times and the power seemed better than the stock 7 cell but it was hard to tell with the wind. The plane flew for 19.5 minutes before the engine quit.
Next I tried my stock 7 cell which had been charged 4 hours earlier. I got 13 minutes of airtime flying the same way I did the Elite.
One thing I did notice was with the Elite the motor was smooth the entire flight. With the 7 cell the motor would do the cut out for a split second that a lot of guys have talked about.
Overall I am very pleased with this battery. Lipo would be better I'm sure but for the price and the fact I don't have to buy another charger it seems to work great.

How are you discharging the batteries? I am glad you were able to get the plane up even knowing it was windy as heck. You will like these batteries. I noticed when the plane was stock and still flying that the Elites were spunkier from start to finish. Happy Flying. Wayne

I just ran the motor on the ground until it quit.
I'm looking forward to a nice calm day to really test it out. 19 minutes was almost too long today. My hands were getting cold.

I have not checked now yet with the new set-up with 5 volt cut-off but with stock set-up I could run until motor quit and still discharge with the charger 150 Mah at the very least. I noticed great improvements in performance after completing a FULL discharge and recharging. This goes for the Elites and the HZ 7 & 8 cell batts. With your new charger if you try this I am sure you'll be impressed. I had read somewhere, maybe RCU, that performing this operation allows the batteries to 'format' themselves better to accepting and discharging charge. Hope this yields you results, let us know. I would love to do that but I don't think my charger will discharge. I almost always run the batteries to motor cutoff so I guess that will have to do.
I usually fly way up high the last couple min of flight and then wait for motor cutoff. Then I glide it back down and see how close I can come to landing it by my feet without adding anymore power. Yesteday I used the 1500 elite battery and flew up as high as I could go without losing sight of it. The climb took 6min and the glide back down took 4.5 min. My son timed it. The battery lasted a about 12 minutes but I also had the camera attached and it was drawing power from the plane.

You are correct, I just looked at the charger and no discharge feature. Does surprise me for such a versatile charger.
Are you still running stock or do you have a different ESC?

I'm running stock and I will probably continue to because my camera hooks up to the x-port.
