I just ordered a dx6 system and am planing to put the receiver in my SC. That being, I need an esc too. I don't know what I need though. I will be keeping the stock brushed motor, and will run a 3 cell 2200mah lipo. What do you reccomend? Thanks!

i got a 25amp brushed esc from ebay for 10 bucks delivered, came from china.
you need to have a throttle cut on you tx or else the prop will "idle" when you come in for landings. I usually land with the prop stopped.

So i'm looking for one somewhere between 25-30 amps?
Kevin- that one's not compatible with lipos. I only fly lipo!

Well technically you can run lipo's. It simply does not support a lvc for them. 2-12 cells is equivelent to 2.4-14.4v. A 3s lipo is fully charged at 12.6. If a guy used a timer he would be fine. However to insure battery safety a lvc is a good option.

Is a tower electrifly C-12 ESC alright for the super cub, running the stock motor and battery. I will be using the DX7 and a ar6100 for the receiver and two futaba mini servos. This is the same system I have in my GWS pico cub running a eps350 and a 2C 800mah lipo. thanks

Also, what is brake? Do i need an esc with one or not? The brake function is mostly used when folding props are being used. When your throttle is off the motor is braked and the prop will stop spinning allowing the folding prop to fold for aerodynamics. I have three esc's all with brake function and have never used it.
