Still flying my original Supercub almost everytime we got out. Problem is that I've only got one 3S 1300 battery left. And I've recently put up a new flyer on a buddybox this year also.

Hello Bryan ,If you feel the need one day ,biplanes are the way to go ,slow flying mostly and majestic in the air ,as long as you stay away from the pitts special ,thats short coupled and a real handful ,something like a dynam tiger moth is ideal ,although she is quite big but you get a lot of biplane for your money .My" tiggy ",has pride of place in the hangar and gets flown at least once every month, i prefer it when there is a blue sky as the yellow RAF training scheme colour really pops against a blue sky ,i live in England so thats where the once a month bit comes from ,you have to wait for the rain to stop . Hi guys. Newbie here. I just picked up HZ Super Cub LP with almost a complete supply of spare parts. Thats a good thing as I will be crashing it probably the very first flight. As I get better, I may improve the plane with ailerons, a brushless motor and better wheels. The plane is in good shape except for a repaired wing. I ordered a new wing from a guy on eBay. Unfortunately it arrived with the box being bent with three holes in it. The new wing, in its original plastic sleeve nd tag has a crease in it making about a 1" dent in the wing's shape. I'll see if I can fix it but the next purchase will be a new wing from the local hobby shop that has no dents, creases or broken shape. LOL The plane came with several batteries. I don't remember their size. What do you guys use?? I live in western WA where it rains about 60-80 inches per year so I have a few months to get the plane ready. Have either of you added ailerons? If so how did you do it?
Super Cub 1, I read that you have a Catalina. That plane is on my bucket list for personal reasons. My uncle was a PBY pilot in the South Pacific in WWII. He was at Guadalcanal , among other places. He never described his experiences but as a little boy, I always noticed a picture of a PBY laying on its side , crashed, in his den. I was told that he had been shot down several times. If you ever get an itch to part with your Cat, I loved to have it.

It has been a long time since I owned a Supercub but I still remember my first flights and what an amazing feeling that was. I did all the upgrading but I am afraid you can not beat the simple performance and sound of an original SC. Just writing about it makes me want to go buy one and start flying again. Have a great time with your Supercub. All my best, Paul.

Last month I was building a pusher wing and found my old Cub in the shed. I thought I'd lost it years ago. I may have to do some work on it and get it back up in the air.

I am still repairing old cubs, just a simple fun plane to fly. Most have been updated to todays standards, brushless, lipo batteries, new receiver.
