It's still a Cub

well I have not flown my Large Cub in a long time
I still have not finished my Brushless Cub conversion

But, I went into storage and pulled out a UMX Sport Cub

as I have been flying some FPV and using quads to do so

I went backwards and decided to mount a FPV Cam on a Sport Cub S
and give it a go ....

I must say , it is a FUN Time

I also hope to try this on a Yak 12 in the coming New Year

I mounted it on my Sportsman to see how well it would do
did not fly it FPV, but used my Goggle DVR to record the flight
it did pretty well for such a small micro camera and has fair amount of range

The Cam is a Spektrum VA1100 micro Cam ( would you believe it once sold for $100 dollars ? )

I got it New on sale for $35...guess all the hype died down and stock was laying around
so they lowered prices... and I see they went back up a tad as well....

Blimey Ed ,you been busy  i only managed to get one vid up ,and no fixed wing flying .The micro fpv cam  looks a good one as you say for the yak. does the cam have frequency switching options ,as i have a monitor from a previous fpv quad that i could use, assuming that the cam can be obtained in the uk. i never thought i would take to fpv ,but it has opened up a whole world of fun.Anyway happy new year to you ,keep up the good work

Jumped in on that one evening and tried to get in as many flights as possible
as I knew the next day would be a rainy one...

yeah that little cam is Nice, better than I thought

Yes the button on top of the VA1100 cam is used to change video channels. Comes stock set to ch1 (=5740GHz) and increases by 20GHz every time you push it, up to ch7 (=5860GHz). After that it loops back to ch1. Pretty sure it remembers the last channel you selected before powering it off. [ got that info off another forum...lol ]

I was reluctant at first to...but seeing you buzz your Ladies plants, I had to try a small quad...
Flying inside is fun, But, had to get outside and something a little better and do so FPV

Why I bought those ET quads to fly around the unique so much Fun

then thought why not the Planes ? at the unique , well it is a scary thought some.....
But after flying around that little Sport Cub, I believe it would be perfect using the
Yak, as it is so docile and predictable ....

will have to break out my New yellow/gray Yak, as the old one simply will not turn right
as we watched in the lawn dart video... .....

So going to set it up just for that ability .

The little Cam is nice , it is all in one just uses a 1S battery to power it up
the weak point appears to be the antenna , as I am sure if it gets hit it will break
it is in the open and on top...and flipping the little Sport Cub over, I was afraid
it might break...there are other similar Cams Eachine made one and GetFPV has one as well

FPV is so much fun....love every second of it

appears some regulations will soon come along...but I doubt they will
do much with the UMX or Micro aircraft...so I basically got them to fly in my yard
no one else's business what i do here...Lol
