have watched tree's over the years get torn up with Lightening and winds blowing some down....this all use to be a Forest around us, most are gone as houses began being built every few feet
we still live back off the street and still have a few very large tree's around
no where as many as they use to be
seems many of the cops have attitudes, some are nice, guess the stress of the job takes it's toll on some and others deal with it better ...or just some people are just normally hateful...lol
Hate to hear about the Beaver, gee that was a good looking plane seemed to fly pretty well also
O well good for a few parts I guess .

Yeah ive taken the rudder servo out and the esc, they are now living in my dynam sonic 185 , with that hairy great 13-4 as well, with the canopy off an acrowot ,my first one that got used as a dog chew . the sonic flys well,i will git some vid of it ,but i also had a problem with the yak ,i came out of a roll and the wings folded ,its not my day today. the beaver was on borrowed time,i had already lined up a use for the motor, pity the prop shaft snapped.i have a very colourful st models mx2 in the shed ,needs everything motor ,ecs servos , but it is pretty, the way my fleet is depleting it might get a go as for the cops i think most of them only join the police because they got rejected for the fire service i mean all the girls love a fireman

WINGS FOLDED.....O NO.....
what is with these Yaks this year ?
geesh...I been thinking about breaking out my new one and getting it in the air this year..BUT with all the Yak-itting going on...maybe I need to let it stay in the box for safety...LOL
I still have my Blue and white one...and it flies great has Nav lights set up
but the Landing gear likes to throw it's tires off and on..no matter what i do with it
May take the LG of the yellow /Gray and use it on that one...see what happens
take out the motor and ESC and servo's and keep for parts and put the airframe away just in case....lol
helped neighbor a tad between the rain drops cut some of the tree as he got his chainsaw hung up...he is waiting fir the Insurance folks to show up...still have not come around....he is a great guy, good neighbor wish there were more like him about .
pouring rain now...seems it will do that the next few days calling for 90+ degree weekend...geesh that is just to hot to stand
A/C will be my friend if it gets that hot..lol

I have a friend "Gluey gun" is his name ,the yak is back ,although the flaps seem to be stuck on half deflection ,i always float about on half flap anyway,so i have disconnected the flap servo from the receiver. it is getting megger hot over here ,but we have a breeze thank god ,and its not even raining ,the old people have started coming out saying ,i remember the last summer like this 1940 . mind you my father was born in kent and was a teenager during the war ,working on a farm driving a Fordson tractor .he told me once of watching a dog fight where a hurricane had shot down a 109,the plane came down in one piece and skidded across the field for ages.the farm workers rushed across the field with their pitchforks, the supervisor was just about to run the pilot through ,when the others pulled him away apparently his son had been killed at Dunkirk. its a difficult point , i mean a raiding 109 would quite often straffe workers in the field in cold blood, so if you came face to face with the enemy the temptation would be to do away with the pilot ,my father said the pilot was wounded in the legs ,probably on belly landing no uc came down, must have been a "Dynam 109"

I like that vid ,slow and majestic gliders can be very satisfying.its funny but i have been playing about with my sonic 185glider ,i cut a hole in the canopy so that i can put a mini dv camera, also filmed from the ground, i finished the flight ,turned cams off ,took the hat cam off and placed it on the ground for a minute, then gathered my stuff together and left,i got halfway home then realized i had left my hatcam on the field, unfortunately it was grass cutter day ,it had run straight over it, i found the remains of the strap but the cam was nowhere to be seen.this weeks flying just gets better and better, what with loosing the beaver, damaging the yak and now the cam. the mini cam i used for the glider flight is not so good quality, but it will have to do , what a plumb i am

Its confusing ,some are power off soarers , where you give it a 10 second motor burn ,about 4oo ft height gain, then try and keep height by sniffing out thermal lift .then you have pure gliders ,which are flown of a hill ,slope soaring, and then you have power on gliders which go anything from park flyers to hotliners , like pylon racers, some of these have notched up 4oo mph.i am still trying to work the sonic out, it gets thrown around a bit with the strong wind, well its 73in ws. i had a parkzone radian a few years ago ,that was a power off glider, just give it the beans with loops and rolls on the way down,i think i need a day with low wind to asses what this glider is really at ,one thing is for sure its fun,and the parts from the beaver are getting more flights than they did before, the rest of my fleet seem to be getting a rest at the moment, not a bad thing some times. anyway how are you fairing these days ,is your health steadily improving ,the heat is a pain but then in England it doesn't stay long .chris

my health is pretty good
at times I have my moments when I am just worn out
sometimes I think i do to much
I like pushing myself trying to do what needs done takes it's toll sometimes .
decided to use the push mower and mow and get more walking in did great and right at the end, I stepped in a hole and twisted my ankle it's pretty sore , but , I can walk on it .
Property runs around 300 feet long or so...its not very wide 75 feet I think
Little things like that frustrates me. Start doing well and then something silly happens and I have to wait a few days to get over it...lol
but those minor things Thank God is all I have been having to deal with no major health issues at all....
has been humid but rain off and on and the wind never stops
suppose to get near the 90's this weekend and humid they say it will feel like in the Hundreds in some areas
but seems every time it clears up the winds pick up more maddening to say the least.
been one of those years
Neighbor has been waiting on his Insurance adjuster to show up so far they have been a no show....have not been able to move the limbs and tree off his building, nor the limbs off mine .
basically I have just been setting around more than anything watching video's and stuff...lol
how has your Health been doing ? Any more spells of falling/passing out ?

Hello ED ,i am pleased to hear you are doing so well ,much the same with me ,i had a spell in hospital in London the other week, but the ward was very quite no tv or distractions, and a/c as well,it was like a health spar.the doctors did loads of tests but in that environment the tests could not provoke anything. in myself i am feeling great ,i mean in the heat i have making sure of my water and salt intake, but yeah i have been out flying whatever.of course i am not doing anything overly physical. the hospital are keeping me waiting until august for my next appointment to discuss the tests fully, but my employers will not allow me back to work until i am sorted out," health and safety", i am thinking perhaps i have had a lingering virus going through my system ,because i feel a lot better now than i did a year ago, but if it was a virus they dont give you anything for it anyway ,with no telling it wont come back, but luckily all the time i have been off i have not suffered from depression,i am too daft for that anyway , but this site has helped a great deal ,taken my mind off things. its funny we both went ill round about the same time. anyway glad to hear you so well, hows the fpv doing ,oh and i went to watch one of your vids of the "Unique" ,they wont load up anymore ,do the vids get taken down from time to time .anyway all the best my friend .chris

have not flown anything in awhile...been to windy
have not even been flying inside either...lol
I checked the vids, did not sign in and they still came up it is hard to tell with You Tube when it comes to that stuff
good to hear you are feeling much better
yeah you may have had a virus or something like that
I do not have much confidence in Doctors I can tell you to many times they simply do not listen to what you tell them and they get the attitude it has to be what they think regardless of the facts that show otherwise...lol
I am still in a wait and see position with the weather
hopefully it will change soon
only issue they are calling for it to get really Hot that is something I can't handle....the humidity drains me quick
we will see....keep flying every chance you get Chris and enjoy
Ed

Well i should be back in business with the cams ,again soon ,"She who must be obeyed" , took pity on me and let me order a factory refurbed vivitar 783 for £12 ,just have to see if its any good.i did eventually find the original one,it was in a spot i had already checked,i think one of the dog walkers had found it ,and left it on the ground near where i was flying the day before,so at that point it was probably undamaged, unfortunately after the big cutter goes around ,they use a smaller ride on job to go round the base of the trees,........yep it ran it over ,but at least i managed to get the s/d card out of it ,working fine. i have been flying ,but its funny in this heat and with the grass low ,i haven't been flying my tail draggers ,i just seem to be taking out the glider, no hassle about retracts or landing with the sun in my face, oh and the yak of course goes without saying. i still think i get more flying in the winter ,less people about and more interesting cloud formations for filming. the glider is super fun,i haven't got round to catching it yet on landing, i have found its best to launch it on full power ,it goes vertical i just count 10 seconds then level off and cut power and scratch around to find some lift doing the odd loop or roll on the way down

still no flying here...
appears these winds will never cease...
odd normally winds blow mornings and all day and lay in the late evenings
now the mornings are fairly calm and winds blow afternoons and into the night
can't fly planes in the mornings due to angle of the Sun in my eyes...always have to wait until late afternoon sun at my back
now with these crazy winds I can't do that
guess I will have to just fly my quad and try and do it of the mornings
also very Hot and humid here...makes it miserable to be outside
but I am getting many things done around the place
that's a good thing...lol

Yeah same thing here with the sun and wind,i have been flying mostly in the late evening ,7.30 -9.30 ,sort of thing sunset mostly, just flying the glider ,well if we have the wind might as well use it. its just great to be flying so late in the evening ,we only get these opportunities for a short time every summer before the nights close in again. but it has been good ,its funny most of the dog walkers have been keeping to the perimeters of the field walking under the shade of the trees and bushes, usually they are all over the place ",popping up out of the blue when i am trying to land", i am the only one stood right in the middle if the field in the heat of the sun," like they say mad dogs and Englishmen" . just another one. youtu.be/IbGMS5jQFcs
