Just put Park 480 on Cub using modified stock gearbox for mount. Also added ailerons, carbon fiber tubes glued into wings and tail,40 amp sensorless e flite speed control, and 4 hitec hs-81 servos. This plane really moves and I have noticed no major torque issues. Unlimited vertical and axial rolls are a breeze. Using a 10/7 prop and 1800 mah lipo so still room in both places for more power but am trying to be conservative for electronics sake. I agree landing is a bit harder with ailerons but I had been flying the stock Cub for 6 months so I felt ready for the challenge. I love visiting the forum and seeing the cool things everybody does to make their Cub their own.

i was wondering how the 480 and cub worked together since some people say its over kill for the cub. nice to know that the stock thrust angles work out well too, as i too plan to use the stock gear box for a mount. sounds like alot of fun, enjoy it.

fanelli. Are you using the same thrust angles as stock, and what KV is the 480?

This is the 1020 Kv motor. Stock thrust angles. I did balance the plane with battery to balance close to stock. I have barely begun to realize all the possibility of the plane as this is my first venture into four channels.
