Shall i tell you , why i have a love/hate relationship with quads. well a couple of years ago i bought a t111 fpv quad , i didnt get a chance to try it at first, when i did the battery's, seemed to play up.sometimes the quad would not bind, and the range on the fpv monitor was woeful .so with time on my hands i decided to see what could be done with it, first off i removed the monitor batt, putting a single cell 500mah on the outside ,the range improved, and it was holding its charge. next the quad itself i found the batt charger is faulty ,not giving proper charge ,so at the moment the quad itself does work i cant charge batts the whole thing is discontinued, i did try replacing the battery lead with a jst lead, but the jst has only two wires and the original ones had three contact points, because the quad has an on off switch and an arming sequence, the jst was by passing the switch as soon as batt was inserted all the props started. also to increase fpv range i took the aerial out of the casing and fixed it on top, away from the electrics and the heat,by this time of course the batts are getting very low on juice.next time i turned on the monitor i couldnt get any fpv link ,the screen not responding ho hum ,any suggestions with this genuine problem ,not the usual waffle

I am not that into quads either.
Not something i could get excited about.
I thought Wow, look at that...well until i got one and I said how come every ones videos are so exciting but flying this thing is a pain ?...lol
I guess like everything else practice would make perfect, but I prefer planes and why my quads are covered with dust....lol

I think you are right, i need to get back to the flying field and fly some" neglected foam"," the fw190 ".keeps looking at me, its funny when the weather is bad i will fly indoor helicopters for weeks on end, then as soon as flying is possible, the helis get left alone all summer ,how did i get sucked into the" drone hole" i just like the idea of fpv ,i might even strap the pesky quad onto the yak12 ,and try that for fpv a bit like the idea parkzone do ,with mini cub with the clover leaf antenna. all the best chris

That would be cool to have FPV on the Yak...it is a slow smooth flying plane..I love it
I have no FPV equipment and not sure I could fly FPV, but at some point I would like to try it
may have to consider that one day

I think the fpv is best on something slow as you say ,i dont think i would go with goggles, just the monitor you want to be able to see the wheels on landing, but then again once you have fpv/d the field once, especially if its grass it might well be something not used much .mind you the lads i see down the field with 250 racing quads are all goggled up and wizzing through gaps in the trees round bushes under goalposts at about 70mph blow that,i dont think any of my planes go that fast

LOL.... I know none of my planes do...that Heli might be close when wide open.... can't imagine trying to keep up with quads like that even with FPV

Hello mate, i suppose it is like when we put a camera on the se5a ,you would be seeing the same image through the goggles, dont think it would give me the confidence to avoid obstacles and land cleanly . its just somewhere my mind goes to when its bored. the weather is still naff

I saw this a few months back and I thought about it but simply did not go for it may allow someone to be able to learn to fly FPV and get use to it, when the weather is horrible this time of year graysonhobby.com/eachine-e010c-micro-fpv-raicng-drone-ready-to-fly-fpv-combo-4035.htmlwas $99 bucks, i noticed the price went up just a tiny indoor drone but comes with goggles etc not to bad for a beginner wanting to learn I guess and they can add a better set of goggles for a little more price yeah my mind goes all over the place when being closed up indoors weather actually as warmed up some here, snow has melted calling for some rain next few days.... Crazy weather...lol

Yeah this one has been out for a while,i did consider it once but i was put off by the run time,3-4 mins the camera introduces a lot of heat, without the cam possible 10mins,also you have to allow cool down time before putting in another battery. now the thing is ,its a bit better here today warmer ,no wind less cloud cover,i am feeling up for it,and them she who must be obeyed ,says just as she goes out the door "oh i should have a couple of parcels arriving over next couple of days" she likes me realy,i mean iwas there when she got married

Hello there , how are you keeping these days,i have just joined facebook , i got fixated with space invaders, i never realized how infuriating computer games are just when you have cleared the screen another little "Rosswell", comes along from the bottom of the screen and zaps you. still not doing any flying at the moment, might be keeping the reflexes going though. are you keeping up with developments in the rc world. i think dynam is on one at the moment, they seem to have a thing for twin engined warbirds ,wish they would do a sopwith camel to go against the albatross, dont even know if they still make the "alby" , i got a secondhand parkzone albatross ,when i bought the se5a secondhand at the same shop, mc cudden is still alright ,the alby is dead, it always had a weird tip stall on it , unpredictable as hell ,nice looker , just not as nice to fly as the 5a,all the best chris

I been over on RC Groups arguing with a few air heads about the FAA and AMA stuff President here signed a Defense bill that had the FAA Registration in it, so makes it the law we register with the FAA to fly again which is OK with me I have my Registration number and am all legal and have been But now the head of the AMA ( Academy of Model Aeronautics ) is trying to claim unless hobbyists are members of their organization, he referred to us as rogues or basically criminals.. I was a AMA member, but they raised their dues and then behind our backs are trying to push that agenda basically saying they want to be the head of the sUAS and NAS and have the right to say who flies and who doesn't The FAA said we had to follow a suggested guide by a CBO ( Community Based Organization ) but we did not have to be a member of them. so basically the AMA is trying to throw hobbyists under the bus they want to drive... and so many are whining that is not what was meant...when a guy calls anyone who is not a member of their Organization breaking the Law and a rogue well that pretty much speaks for itself...lol I play video games a lot....I have several game systems ( do not have the newest ones )....so yeah video games can be maddening...lol I have been wanting a P-61 Blackwidow for years, Dynam said they are coming out with one, seems it has a ton of issues they are suppose to be working out before it gets released to the general public My issue now is funds are way to tight to buy much of anything....so any new models will have to wait . here is a couple videos of the Dynam P-61 www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrgImSCWGGAwww.youtube.com/watch?v=XX2BQWEDd20

Hello there, yeah i keep in touch with the "Slovenian boys" , pilot Robert had some real problems with that p61, but i see it advertised in the mags at £275 ,way too much for me i dont like to invest too much in just one plane.also i have to watch the wingspan of future models. because i haven't been flying the attrition rate has dropped off ,and i have trouble storing them in my sons bedroom. the lads where reviewing one of my favorites yesterday the flyzone island wings dhc2 beaver . i totally expect the developments you mention with the flying authorities will come over this way, i believe their is a hidden agenda here that we are not privy to its funny ,they will strangle to death an innocent hobby ,properly done a danger to no one,and happily allow nutters to walk around quite legally with everything from a hand gun to an ak47 ,is it me or are things a bit skew wiff ,.chris
