My field is smaller than most and taking off is pretty easy, but landings have always been tough. The ground is rough and bumpy, so I laid some carpet down, But i always over shot the carpet of run over it and back to the grass or worse came way to short . I added some more carpet today and smoothed out the ground underneath so it will not be so bumpy. I even added a short taxi way as well . Now i just hope i can land on it . I also last year cut down some shrub tree's so i could make a better turn to line up to land. It helped a lot, but i always either came up short or missed the carpet... Been to windy to fly, so I thiught I would get prepared for when I do get to fly. So...here are some pics of what I am talking about . Enjoy Pics of tree's removed .

Looks like a great improvement. I sure hope you see a difference when you get a chance to fly! Scott

We have a decent field (double baseball) with reasonable grass. In the middle there is a swath of outdoor carpeting for a Cricket pitch. Looks to be similar size to yours, maybe a bit longer. That thing is HARD to land on. It's not so easy to do a long taxi on either.

I hear that a lot on other sites....seems hitting the mark is very hard i know for me I hit it 1 out of 15 maybe...and always roll beyond the length of the carpet, I am hoping the longer one will help If i can just come down on it to stay off the rougher grass would help 100% Another flyer from the UK over on RCGroups gave me a drawing of how to paint lines to help line up the landing May have to consider that if I can't line it up said to use marker paints...use the lines to know the decent etc...to line up Never thought of that....
