Had a good outing this evening. Flew 6 Batteries through my Archer and got a couple flights on one of my Yak's We have had beautiful weather all through December , a couple light snow moments, but rather warmer than normal temps. This month has been nice as well, some warm and cold days, but mostly sunny, today was like that Sunny day in the low 40's some wind but was still Nice felt good to get some flying in after more than a month of no flying due to windy conditions Had a blast, and to be able to fly in January , was in itself amazing, normally around here would be to much snow and way to cold, has been unique weather so far , warmer and drier than normal Hope everyone else has got some flying in, I hope the fair weather continues, but around here snow is also very important, so some good snow would be fine as well.

I have not flown in over two years, but I am aggressively getting the Super Cub out of the mothballs and back on the flight line. I have committed in my mind to get back into the hobby that I let fall dormant for various reasons. My goal is to learn to fly proficiently over the next year on the basic cub with minor mods (larger wheels, wing saddle reinforcement, wheel skirt reshaping) and then in the upcoming winter complete some upgrades to the Super Cub. I would like to be able to handle the plane as it is now, be confident and have fun! Eventually, I would like to upgrade with ailerons, a brushless motor, a new transmitter and receiver (6 channel?), and airframe strengthening. My current goal though, is to fly fly fly! I need to gain confidence and get comfortable enough that flying becomes second nature and is FUN!

I was able to fly yesterday 1/7/16 just took three battery, because I go after work, I took the apprentice, & night visionaire, had the field all to myself, I had three good fights, & landing before it was too dark & cold. btw I have the first gen apprentice no stabilizer or safe to it. If it had been snow on the ground then I take the catalina.

Got my first flight in of the year last Saturday (16th). It went fairly well, got the HK Walrus maidened and had the super cub up for about 20 mins. Sadly when flying the Walrus on its second battery (after nearly an hour of flight time with it!) there was a minor electrical failure (orx receiver) causing the Walrus to glide to the ground, bending the nose. No big issue though! - nothing a bit of glue and tape won't fix
