Hi All,
I took my cub out today as it was lovely and sunny with about 0.5mph wind!
Upon hand launching my cub as the grass was rather long I discovered the cub didn't have the power that I was used to.
It took 2 attempts to get it into the air as it simply didn't have the power to take off. Once I had finally got it into the air
I was noticing that I didn't have the usual power to perform loops and steep climbs.
The only difference in my cub that I had made since the previous flight was a different receiver, I had changed my flysky 6 channel receiver to a AR8000.
After I had used up my first battery I brought the cub down and calibrated the ESC as I thought possibly changing to Spektrum radio gear may mean the ESC
needed recalibrating. However, this made no difference and the cub flew sluggish with the second battery as well. I also played with the "travel" on the radio and put it up to 150 on the throttle increase direction
to see if it made any difference. It didn't seem to.
My instinct is telling me that both batteries could possibly be on their way out! - or there could just be a simple setting that isn't set up properly on the DX7.
Or maybe even a knackered charger that isn't charging properly - as i am only using an cheap E-Sky one that came with a heli many years ago.
Just so you can make your own judgement, this is the gear I'm using:
Motor: Stock brushed
ESC: Turnigy 30amp brushed
Receiver: Spektrum AR8000
Batt: Turnigy/Zippy 2200
Radio: New black DX7 - I'm very impressed with it, great transmitter
Hopefully someone can help!
Thanks,
Steve
