Now everyone knows I love my Champs....the reality Sim as I call it.
The last two evenings I have been able to fly the Sport Cub S
This tiny plane is an absolute Blast to fly...I can fly it very High and just allow it to do it's own thing.
It will actually fly around my field with little input by me.
It takes off like a larger plane..climb out is smooth and looks real
Last night set it to 6 minutes had 7 flights
Tonight set to 8 minutes had 5 flights
never reached LVC
I have not checked my batteries with a meter, BUT when I hooked them to my charger
the voltage last night read 4.10v and some 4.08-4.09v etc
Tonight after flying and starting to charge the first reading was anywhere from 3.98v-3.92-3.96 etc etc.
these are E-Flite 1S 3.7 v 150mAh batteries.
will check with a meter tomorrow if i get to fly again
Had key cam on my hat, but did not record the plane at all..all one could see was the tree's and field
saw plane taking off and landing that was it...lol
will try and see if I can angle the cam upwards to see the flight i hope.
Flew till the moon was shining bright and got to dark to see with no LED's
that is the next thing i will do.Install LED's.
had a blast- also flew 2 Champs.
now on another note. I have a second Yak and installed a SAFE RX....bench testing the control surfaces worked but had to
put a servo reverser on the ailerons to go the correct direction...also the Motor would not work
with some advice from those who use the SAFE often, they suggested trying to hook up battery first and then the SAFE Rx
that makes the Motor work....so tonight I decided to try and maiden that Yak.
Checked everything, But noticed the Elevator was going in wrong direction, did not notice that when testing
Now me I had to try it anyway...thought I would just use the elevator stick backwards, no big deal I thought
Not a good idea...the SAFE works through the RX trying to force it to do what it is not suppose to do does not work
On take off goes straight nose up in-spite of my stick input---of course that stalls the plane immediately and
goes Nose down..and crash
Broke Cowl-Prop and knocked the motor mount loose from the foam ( motor mount is spring loaded for those nose crashes, it worked very well btw )
Lesson learned...even with that crash ( I am use to doing that now...does not bother me I learn from them )
But over all had a couple nice evenings of flying right before dark and right after dark.
