If, like me you keep charging batteries only to be thwarted by the weather and have to return then to storage charge, you'll be aware that unless you have a really good charger, draining them takes an age. All day for 6 batteries at my chargers rate of 0.3A. Well, I bought one of these m.ebay.co.uk/itm/350326131366?_mwBanner=1 which, when you cut off the vehicle plug and solder on an EC3, pulls 12A through the battery... And drains a 1350mah to storage in well under 5 minutes.

Car heater ? in SUMMER HEAT .... jk. If need be most of the time I just simply ( note: depending on which model it is ) run the battery for a few minutes IN the model to drain it some than hook it to my charger to set it at store.... Goes back to people arguing over the AIR going over the model and causing heat in the motor and ESC.... Some say the air from the prop is not the same ? Then there are those who worry about getting prop cuts ? and many argue over a host of what you should or should not do Some use a light bulb and drain their batteries But that appears to be a good idea...do they make that in a A/C Unit also ?

It kicks out as much heat as a cigarette lighter at 100yds Very effective power consuming device though...

Just have to keep an eye on it with a multimeter hooked up to the balance plug and be careful. It puts enough load on the battery to make it slightly warm, so the voltage drops fast.
It isn't difficult to monitor, but I do get what you're saying - its all too easy to kill a Lipo.
