Look at the Tips and Tricks section, at the Skis for Cubby post and view the pics there of skis for a SC. Me, I belive your setup is too complex and too much wood used for the support of it. Skewers are notorously bad in breaking. Still, it is fun to see what all one has as a diy project going. Good luck with it. Fun video. I am not putting your mod down in any manner, as I really love to see the creativity of a good diy mod, but just saying it looks too complex to me. This set is much less so. The contact point for hooking them up is minimal and no worry over something breaking or getting too much moisture or weight to the ski. It also balances well for the CoG.

No worries at all about the suggestion to look at the tips and tricks. I did not take as a put down at all. I have tried the skis in the photos last year and had trouble with them staying in place while flying. The right, if my memory is correct would never stay in position. I bought the second set after that to see if maybe I was missing something and had the same luck with them as well. I broke both skis on the right side i think from having them staying straight up and down. I think I'm going to try my version with all plastic and no balsa. I get bored easy and sometimes I make stuff to try for the fun of it. the skis are one of those times. I bought a large set of aluminium skis for my DHC Beaver which work very well. LHS say they have a set the same in plastic so I might give in after a few more experiments and buy them. Something I should mention as well, this is a awesome spot for info. It's great being able to talk about issues or just having fun, with people from all over with same interests. A local sign shop gave me some vinyl for lettering to try on the foam to see if it sticks well. If so I'm going to "try it" they say no heat required and does have a small amount of stretch to it. LHS carries a lot of brands they say work well some with heat and some without, but would be to easy to just try them. LOL
