I have purchased a super cub from hobbyzone and I am building a balsa tiger moth and want to use the spectrum TX with the tiger, will the stock RX in the cub work in the tiger, or are there other (better) options? I am planning on using MPI EPU-6, a 9-7 prop, MX-9208 Micro ESC all from MPI and a 13C 2S 1320mAh 7.4 LiPO Battery, as suggested in the plans.

There are better options - I've just ordered a AR6210 6 channel RX for an Eflite Bonanza 15e, along with a decent ESC should provide a bulletproof system.
The RX/ESC unit in the cub is the weak point.

thanks, can I use the spectrum TX with a different RX, like the AR6210 you mentioned.

Indeed you can. What TX is it you are using?
If you look at the Spektrum website, there is a large choice for all kinds of plane. If your TX is 4 channel, a six channel RX is pretty pointless - for example. Don't buy from eBay, most will be Chinese copies of dubious quality.

I find Orange receivers good and not expensive.

I find Orange receivers good and not expensive. I've heard good things too, but don't know a great deal about them. I stick with Spektrum because its what I've known and researched... To each their own.

I have a Spektrum 5520 DX5e, I am thinking an AR610 would work.
