You really need to look at the different sections here. There are indeed mods shown there to look at. Not everyone agrees as to the best wheels for such as you mention and there has also been discussions on such. I encourage you to do some reading in the different categories listed at the home page here. Here is just one that may be of help located at the Landing Gear section: supercubclub.proboards.com/thread/5445/wheel-recommendations

Hi, I've got the Super Cub S and landing in grass has always been an issue. I land in a park that has a fake grass cricket pitch and find this to be absolutely perfect. Although there larger wheels I find they have no benefit. I'm actually going to buy the aqua landing gears and try landing in all levels of grass and looking forward to that.

Larger wheels help it Roll through the grass a little easier..One still has to learn how to Take off and Land properly on any surface.
( Something I still have not done well-with any plane )

Indeed, even on short grass it is very easy to fudge a landing by either bouncing off the deck or hitting it too hard. Oversize tyres help, but they can't grease a landing for you.
The first results in a bounce and loss of control and the second in bent/broken landing gear and a noseover onto the planes back. Also be careful of the skirts with oversize tyres, mine kept catching as the gear legs flex on impact.
Be aware also that you may want to move the wheels forward by bending the legs slightly to make it more stable.

Easier and more effective just to take them off Also makes straightening the legs every dozen or so grass landings a lot easier!

I have hit pretty hard several times have never bent the LG ?
I have cut the pants and actually have them sown to the metal LG with thread.
I have had the plastic crack at the mounting screw once , but a little glue fixed that issue
Other than that I have had no issue..But again I land most times in tall grass and avoid the mowed area but the times I Landing on it [ or should say tried to land ] , ( resulting in bounce and nose overs ) the LG has never bent .
But i guess if it is bending that easy, not having them on is best.
Mine is really solid and stiff with them sown on and screw mounted and glued...so far so good.

If I may make so bold with advice; Get plane starting to roll so you know it's not stuck and about to nose over then full down elevator and max throttle. She'll be up and away in a few feet.

Thanks sailor much appreciated Biggest issue is the rough area I have to land on I laid down some carpet that now helps with take off's even with my small planes ( like the Champ for example ) But landing on it has been near impossible....little ones still nose over and bigger ones float so far it is hard to hit the mark once it gets on that rough ground, over it goes...lol

Arh see your problem mate :-)
Before someone leaps on what I wrote, to make it clear I meant full down on elevator stick which of course means full up elevator) lol

Not an easy thing to do, landing on grass. I've got it, mostly now.
Interestingly, with stiffer gear, it was harder.
Since I chose to allow the flex and not try to strengthen the landing gear, landings are much easier because the legs act like suspension.
Downside is that you have to bend them back into shape sometimes.

I think the biggest issue with me is, I have tried flying and take-offs and landings with multiple planes...everyone is a bit different
One is heavier feeling, drops faster, one floats more, one is smaller, one is larger, one rolls easier, one does not want to roll in grass etc etc etc.
And speaking of LG, yeah some are firmer and some are softer, some have larger wheels , some smaller, some flex easier, others have no flex at all.
Why I think i am going to stick with just a couple planes as my main focus this year.
I will try a few more, but not going to do it much.
Going to stick mainly with my Cub and my Yak...and of course the Champ especially after dark, also hope to fly my Yak after dark as well.Great LED's on it now. it has 10 different settings, all flashing, none flashing, some flashing some solid etc etc..all sorts of abilities.
the Champ is sort of a warm up model , for the others. gets my thumbs limbered and my mind-stick input going the same way ( most of the time anyway )...lol
