Went flying this morning. Perfect weather and lovely flights with both planes. No problem at all... Except...
On the final flight of the three that the Supercub had, just before SportCub came out to play, I noticed that the old girl was turning right just a little. Odd, she's been flying dead straight for over 100 flights now and has never crashed or been modified/repaired.
After a sweet landing, on closer inspection, the horizontal stab has some sideways play and the hard points on the main wing where the struts attach have a little movement on one side. Obviously one side of the wing is now able to flex a tiny bit more than the other, causing a steering effect.
Poor old girl is simply getting worn out. I don't want to retire her, as my son is showing interest and loves his little flights at altitude... And the SportCub reacts far too quickly for him.
And I find it really useful to get my eye in on the slower, gentler plane before moving on to the one that really needs attention.
Is it possible to remove the wing hard points without damaging the wing or the hard points? And what would be the best glue for these issues? I'm thinking epoxy because of the different materials to be glued.

the plastic parts that connect the struts may have compress the wing some from the stress on the wings during flights it maybe possible to just give it one or two click up from the bottom side of the wing, you can remove them but they not hold as well they work on the just like a zip tie epoxy will work, so will hot glue

Thank you, I didn't know the strut mounts could be tightened.. They're secure again. Did the tail feathers by dismantling and reassembling, making sure it was all tight. Didn't need anything else to make it snug, so I'll just keep an eye on it rather than glue it and add weight right at the end of the tail. Also used a hair dryer to gently heat the foam around the wing saddle to uncompress it and cure the little bit of a gap at the leading edge - who needs wooden sticks?!! Here's to another 100+ flights
