From 7 AM tomorrow morning untill October the 8th. It's finally here and this drilling rig can kiss my you know what. Two weeks of whatever I(the wife included) want to do. I know of at least 10 days at the camp, wheich equals to 10 days of flying weather permitting. Food, campfires, a few(more than a few actually)adult beverages, and overall fun times. I'll try my best to snap a few pictures for you all to show you what an East Texas funtime looks like. Take care!

Fun,yes. Safe, yes. And some wide open space to fly. There aren't a lot of "hold my beer and watch this moments" that happen. Plus, the only thing we drive after we get there is our golf cart (its a big camp, Texas you know).

A quick update..... A funny thing happened Friday afternoon after a quiet nap. We went to go walk the dogs after waking up, and while I was outside leashing up the beasts, there was a commotion and a "thud" type noise. My Bride and co-pilot was coming out of the camper and slipped on the top step. It was then an express ride to the bottom. She dislocated a finger, broke her wrist, Banged the opposite shoulder, and knocked her head on the ground hard enough her sunglasses cut her about the right eye. Four hours, two emergency rooms, and about 125 miles of driving we got most of it sorted out.
We're to see the orthopedist that replaced her hip last year to see about the wrist, finger, shoulder, and make sure the replaced hip is ok.
We're back to the camp on Thursday. Her throttle thumb is wrapped in a splint at the moment, and probably in a cast tomorrow.
P.S. No beverages were even consumed that day FYI.

That's "funny" unfortunate. Hope there's no lasting damage.

Seriously? You can "SAFE" your spouse? Wouldn't that be cool! OTOH, you sure would not want to "ACT" them....

She'll be in a cast until the middle of November unfortunately, but won't require any surgery thankfully.
She had been progressing really well with her approaches and landings also up to this point. We'll figure out how we'll keep her flying without the use of her throttle-thumb. I 'll be building her an airboat in the meantime that she can use on the pond. It'll help with her steering while it's coming at her on the pond.
