Hi All,
New Super Cub owner and it came with a Prophet 35W Lipro Sport charger. The manual is less than useful on how to actually select the correct settings.
Has anyone used one of these how do I charge the stock battery that came with the SC? I don't want to damage it.
Thanks
Andrew

Lipo charging can be scary with the horror stories but if the battery isn't damaged you shouldn't have any issues. I'm not familiar with that charger, but according to online reviews you have to select the current with the button and then press and hold the same button to start. The Green light comes on when charging is done.
By memory, 1C (1x capacity) is normal for that battery so if its a 1300mah battery you want no more than 1.3A charge power. It seems that the charger doesn't have a 1.3 setting but the 1.5A charge rate would be OK for the stock 1300mah too, as they are considered OK up to 2C. Plug the balance lead into the 3S port on the charger.
Hope that makes sense.

Is that a stock charger? That would be new.....maybe a small improvement. Pretty much do what sham said. Here's your 'tutorial' for lipos....https://sites.google.com/site/tjinguytech/charging-how-tos/ Bookmark it, you'll need it. There's more to learn than flying. Flying is the easy part.

Apparently there was a recall on the original charger so the store replaced it with this one. thanks for the link. Will check it out.

That charger looks exactly like the one that came with the original SC .....I wonder if it is the same ? The WAY back original charger was NiMh and looked like the 'pistol grip' unit pictured. Then they went to a flat unit with a dial on it for lipo. I guess some units became pistol grip shaped but were lipo also. Probably the internals were the same as the flat unit. Can't say I keep close track though.

Reason i wonder is I still use that charger for one particular battery now
The batts that fit the Delta Ray and now the Archer ( same batts ) use a EC2 battery end...I have yet to come across a battery adapter for it so the only way I have to charge them at this moment is that old SC Charger and a I have a simple 2S-3S charger made by Dynam that came with one of their planes....they just have the slot for the balance charger end and nothing else and they plug into the wall.....
Never liked using that old SC charger....but now I have had to a few times...and oddly enough not for the Super Cub...lol

I'll give kudos to Horizon when it come to replacing defective items. They're pretty quick about it.
