The Old Super Cub has the X-Port one can use a Drop Module to drop items parachutist or bombs whatever secure.hobbyzone.com/search/HBZ6023.htmlHave never used the X port, nor ever even considered the drop module I see it is still available . Has anyone used the module and how good did it do ? I see poor reviews regarding it and a few good ones. Considering getting one just to try, but if it breaks easy or does not last as some reviews mention not sure I would bother. Just wondering about it. Anyone have experience with it ? Thanks . Also see Park Zone has a drop module type item for their FW 190 www.horizonhobby.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?searchKeyword=EFLA405&searchType=productgridWonder how that would work ?

I've often thought about it. As you say, mixed reviews.
I didn't buy it yet, but probably will one day. From what I have seen on you tube, it needs a gentle hand on the sticks to avoid unplanned drops until the release... Then flying as normal can resume.

I've seen the first video, and its very cool.. Although those guys are terrible pilots. Why have I never thought of a servo hooked into the spare channel to release a rubber band? Simple genius, and so cheap.
I will do that, definitely.
So, it's set up the radio to transmit rudder signal from a switch and buy a servo... Job done. May even get two so I can use the unused gear channel on the SportCub as well.
Thanks for posting!

The size of the Sport Cub and it's Power you could carry some hefty things to release with that Bomb drop....just not a cow bell....lol

The pilot either likes near stalling and crash landing or could do with buddying up for a few lessons.

I've just set the DX6i so that it has a disabled rudder stick, and the rudder channel idles at 100% left. With a flick of the flaps switch it goes 100% right.. So full servo travel on a switch on a Supercub. I'll get a servo next time I'm at the model shop I'll try it out on this plane, because I forgot that at the moment I'm using the mix settings on the gear channel to give 3 position flaps on the SportCub.. Using gear for the drop would mean only having zero or full flaps, which would be a shame..

Thanks guys, video was very hastily thrown together.
I think the plane will be a handful with the cog shifted back quite a bit when carrying the intrepid parachutist... But its only during the climb, I suppose. Should be ok.
