Hello Group; I found an easier way to install the battery on a Super CUB S (at least for me)
I feed the battery lead wire trough the slot in the battery compartment and connect it inside the plane. I added some tap to the bottom side of the battery to make it easier to remove. The pics should clarify what I'm talking about. Still have to remove the wing for a new battery, but it is easier than fight the tight squeeeze Randy

If it works for you that is Ok....I still have the older DSM version and I never changed or did a Battery box Mod, the Battery box and the battery is very tight But I just added a piece of tape to the battery so i could pull the battery out. The wire and all is still in the battery box as it always was....do not have to remove the wing at all.
Having to remove wing to change batteries gets old after awhile .

With my S, I find if you put the battery in and then connect it, it is easier than connecting it and then putting it in. It looks like the way you are doing it, you have to take the wing off every time you want to hook up and unhook the battery.

Me, with the arthritis in my fingers, I had difficulty in getting the battery in place and also in removal of it. Those connectors can get really difficult to pull apart when you have arthritis. What ends up working for one may not always work well for others. That inside of the SC is really a tight space for my old fingers. Removal of the wing may be a pita for some, but the most workable solution for someone else. If it works for you, then that is all that really counts in the long run. Thanks for posting the pics, as it may help someone else in the future. Good luck with your mod.
Just don't forget to check your CoG after any change in battery box or mods there, as it can indeed effect things drastically in the long run.

Anyone here use a 3000 mah battery,I ordered a few for my beaver - wondering if they will work in the cub or be too heavy.

Shouldn't be to heavy, I used to put my gopro hero (the first bigger one) on and fly! Could still do loops and climb to decent altitude, although it did slow it up and make it sluggish.
