Hi, so I want to do the brushless upgrade and i know that you need a new receiver, but I dint know what receiver is compatible with the stock transmitter. I dont wanna buy a new tx too. So what do you guys mainly use? And can I add ailerons with this receiver right? And will the module drop from the xport work with this receiver or is it garbage? Thanks again

You have to install a New receiver totally. the Old ESC / Receiver unit will not work and neither will the x port as is.
You need to look into Spektrum's site to see what Receiver is best with the DX4e, that I do not know

Pretty much any DSM2 compatible receiver will work. If you want ailerons you need at least four channels, for flaps as well - five or more. The Spektrum site will list compatibility for each transmitter and there are other options made by Orange as well.
Plug the new brushless ESC into the throttle port, the servos into the others, bind and go.

What motor and esc setup did you go with? What size the stock motor and esc?

My Supercub is mechanically and electronically stock, save for an extra servo working to drop parachutists.
But there are any number of possible combinations, and plenty of threads on the subject in this section. Only thing I would say is that eflite motors and ESC come with connectors attached which makes life much easier.

go to headsup rc they have the esc/ motor & mounts all figured out. I used a spectrum ar6210 rec. that I found on e-bay for half of retail
