New SC with SAFE Technology

As I was searching about I looked into the new SC with Safe

I see on the HH site there are no spare parts listed

I decided to call HH to see why.

I do know the SC we all have enjoyed has a long parts list on it's page, However the New S ( safe )version has none

So as I am and had to inquire , I chatted with them over it .

I was told it has components that are not customer serviceable . Basically I was told their ESC-RX Safe system will not be allowed to be sold to a customer . With that said IF that system fails , one will have to either send it to HH for repair and or buy a new plane with Safe installed ( that was the understanding I got about it )

So in my ever crazy moments of buying planes and searching for that next dollar to be spent, I inquired about the Delta Ray as well.
( it has that SAFE Set up in it )
My question was about the battery for the SC being able to be used in a DR...not gonna happen and the fact the DR battery end is different than the SC. The new end is a EC2 Not a EC 3. Plus one is a 3 cell and the other a 2 cell

I do not solder , but appears I am going to have to learn pretty quick. This whole battery end debacle from one plane to another is driving me nuts . For example, I have a Decathlon with a XT60 battery end and the EC3 end on the SC....I can use the batteries for my SC ( EC3 end ) with my Decathlon, BUT I can not use my Decathlon Batts XT60 end in my SC ? It simply will not plug up . [ that to me drives me crazy]

I have JST connectors for some planes and batts, Deans on others, and a few I have no clue what type end they are.

And my X2 heli uses a total different end I do not even know what it is called, and so on ( ranting I know )

But thought I would give everyone a heads up about the S version Cub Safe plane .
( I would buy their components and put them in my present Cub, if they were available ) and I know that is why HH will not sell those components they knew thousands of others would as well and never spend a dollar on their S version plane .

UPDATE to this Thread.

After talking to the guy on the Chat from HH.....the other day and them telling me what they do and why

Today I go over to their web site and they DO NOW list parts and the DSMX SAFE Receiver/ESC Unit: for the S Super Cub

The Price $55.99 US .

So much for these product specialists who answer your questions online chat, they don't even have a clue as to what HH is doing.

glad to hear that,I went over the manual on line and it list the repair parts. Now as far as connectors
you can buy adapters that go from one kind of plug to another, but the EC3s is one of the easiest to
solder I change my batterier and ESC connectors to EC3. I can fly any of my planes with the same batterier
if it will fit.

Thought i would relay another issue I read on another forum.

Seems most of us have a Spektrum transmitter and many got it with their Super Cub, it is a Dx4e

Over on the other forum someone bought a Safe plane from HH. Seems their site and I see it is there as well, lists the Dx4e as the exact same one that comes with the RTF SC

The person said as we all know that TX has a ACT switch which is 2 position ON and OFF . A button on the right side which is the HIGH or LOW rate switch and on the top Left
a Bomb drop button ( as it were )...WELL the planes with the SAFE Technology requires a 3 Position switch to operate the Modes .
Beginner Mode
Intermediate Mode
Experienced Mode
and of course their Panic Mode switch which is that Bomb drop type switch on Top left

The older Transmitters like the one that came with the Super Cub will not allow you to use the Modes, it eliminates the Intermediate Mode if you use the older style Spektrum Tx's

The person bought a BNF ( Bind and Fly ) plane their intention to use their older SC Tx. (SO if you do not have a Spektrum Tx wth a 3 position switch buy a RTF version plane NOT a BNF.)

Of course many who own that plane they purchased gave the advice to simply use it and try it first. They said the Intermediate Mode was not much different from the experienced mode.

SO if anyone decides to upgrade or buy a plane with the SAFE Technology installed in it, just remember the older TX if it does not have a 3 position switch, you will not be able to use All of the SAFE modes .

I assume as easy as the Cub flies, the SAFE would be good in windy conditions and or if one lost the plane the panic button would bring it to level flight so one would not crash it, but other than that I would think one would not need to use anything but the experienced mode after a few circles.

Wonder what it would be like to install that SAFE Rx/ESC in our Cubs ?
The Panic button would allow you to make almost perfect landings and take off's every time, it Almost does it for you. The Beginner mode allows you to simply Throttle Up and the Elevator is already set and the plane will rise at it's own precise angle and on landings , by holding the panic button and throttle off the plane will descend and stay level and at the right angle to land....that alone would be a good benefit

Having an older Spektrum TX like I do with a 2 position switch, would not affect my flying with SAFE Technology, having the beginners mode and a experienced mode would not be an issue with me , and that panic button mode would be a Great addition to flying if one got carried away and be even Greater for Landings.

I have also been looking at the Delta Ray Plane on the HH site. It looks appealing and it has safe Technology and it is small enough for my field I believe.
I may dive into that one myself.

The TX listings on HH site are incorrect. They told the guy even tho their site is wrong they could not help him

That was sad. Seems HH is getting as bad as many of the China companies...and HH is twice the price, and that is what's sad.

And almost everything they sell has Brushed motors , what is up with that Horizon Hobby
