...So I've been trolling the Battery and Chargers sections for a few days now, and reading ALL I CAN about LiPo management. I have purchased a Turnigy Accucell 6 (per FD's suggestion) as I believe the biggest LiPo pack I'll be charging/balancing in the next 6-12 months is perhaps a 2200, but more likely the SC stock packs.
So here's my question: Assuming the following -- Decent charger (Accucell 6 in this case), adequate AC/DC power supply (let's say 15v, 50W), and undamaged batteries....
How risky (if at all) is it to charge at 2c instead of 1c (IOW, is it inadvisable to charge faster than the factory-recommended rate of 1c, if you're set up properly)?
How fast do you all typically charge?
Loving this hobby and forum more and more. It's brought out my (mostly) dormant inner geek again!
Thank you in advance for your responses.

To clarify my question: what determines whether you charge a particular pack at 1c or higher?

No problem. You certainly can get some discussion about this and there are a few guys completely convinced that anything other than 1C is dangerous, illegal, destructive, and an anathema against the lipo gods. That's pretty much ignorant thinking. 2C with any lipo now days is no problem. 3C is not a problem with most. I've been doing 2-3C for years. Some are even specified for 5C. Those should note that in the specs somewhere. Having said that there is certainly no problem or crime in 1C if you have the time. The smaller the battery (under 1000Ma) the more I lean toward lower rates but this has more to do with the issues surrounding how the balance algorithm works for chargers in that class.
