Under Battery Box

Screwed to the underside of the battery box is a rough tube of plastic. What is it for? I've actually removed it to make way for a mini camera but curious as to what it is.

That tube is for x port add on to snap on to, like the combat, light, and parachute drop moduals

I've seen the combat modual in action, the way it works is you shoot another cub with the same modual, you
have to be close enough, for its a sonic wave, and it cut the motor off for about 10 seconds

If you take a small Bic pen and trim it down, you may be able to use that round piece to work as a camera mount point. You would want to ensure the battery box door does not open easily though and also clearance is not a problem for the camera. Of course, this would be dependent upon the size and length of your camera used. Here is a really, really rough idea as to how a mount could possibly work. I have actually made a similar one in the past, but didn't ever use it. Just a diy idea to ponder as to a camera mount idea. Drawing is not to scale by any means.

Here is a photo of my second SC being worked on. I have not trimmed away the various screws that I put in to make a better securing of the battery box on it, but perhaps the key chain camera can be better show as this battery box mount was devised. I used the bic pen and simply took some foam cut from one of those exercise rubber tubes that I found for a dollar at a thrift store. With a simple rubber band, it held the camera to that bic pen pretty well and angled down for a good camera view there. This plane is not complete and flying, so I really can't recommend this camera mod as a great mod presently, as I have not flown and tried it out just yet. Someone else may give it a try if they wish though.

Here is a mount I had for my Mobius when I made my maiden voyage and wrecked it into a brick wall. At the impact speed, the camera did fly off and shatter some plastic pieces onto the ground, but due to the impact it took, any camera would likely have suffered the same end results. For normal flights and all, this large paper clip mount has a couple of different positions for the camera and works well. I would not necessarily risk another camera as expensive as the Mobius, because the stock Mobius lacks a protective case. However, key chain cameras would work well and are inexpensive enough to risk routinely. You can see in the photos that I bent the tab of the large paper clip over to allow the camera to sit sideways and even tried it out with the camera pointing downward. A small camera would not be impacted much on good landings by bounce or movement when positioned like this, but I preferred the camera  to be on the bent tab, myself. These large paper clips can be found at Staples or Office Depot and are indeed cheap and easy to modify. I'd use a tether of fish line to anchor the clip and camera to that holder on the bottom of the battery box, but that was something I learned the hard way when I wrecked my SC on the maiden voyage.
