I like the floats on my SC, but I found those small screws strip out at the heads really easy and are somewhat difficult to tighten down with much force. I replaced mine with small allen head bolts. Unfortunately, the allen head ones are not painted or done up with a water proof coating and can get rusty pretty quickly, so I used a smidge of clear fingernail polish to coat them and they work great. Plus, they also give a bit more torque in tightening them down where they attach and secure the wire frames. Nice paint job on your plane. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the tip on the floats, I'll make the change very soon. I have done most all the up grades for strengthening my plane, been searching the net to see what others have done. Glad I came across this site, loads of info here. I added STOL flaps and a light kit, new receiver and esc but still using brushed 480 original motor for now. Not a lot of experience flying this large a plane. have only flown my CHAMP and a UM p51 . I'm finding it hard to get use to the weight I figure of this plane. seems to require much time for things to happen. Have only flown it 6-7 times and had maybe 3 good landings. Most of those since I installed the flaps. Slows down better now for easier landings. I'm a bit nervous flying this one. I still enjoy every time i take it out. When the times comes for bushless any suggestions on size. I want this plane for scale flying. Not real interested in the acrobatics ( not yet anyway).Would like to be able to keep using my 11.1 ,1300 amp 35c batteries if possible. Also I have a 30 amp brushed and bushless esc which I would like to use as well. If not possible would not be the end of the world or anything just trying to save a little if possible. Any suggestions would be great.

I picked up my SC last night to show a friend and I noticed that the plastic piece that holds the landing gear to the front on the right float was lifting away from the plastic to the float there. I'll have to glue it down and hopefully I'll have no issues with it. Probably would not have noticed it immediately if I had not been showing my SC to a friend. Not sure just what caused this, but it seems to be an easy repair to make.
I am currently trying to make a one man DIY pontoon boat to retrieve my plane from the water if it happens to crash. I have lots of ideas on how to do it, but I have to get my garage cleaned up to start that project and I have several other DIY projects going right now. My foot is miraculously better for some odd reason. Time to take advantage while it seems to be better. Guess the apple cider vinegar does indeed work.... and no Marmite necessary to include with it, either. :-)
