If you look up the Glasair Sportsman you will see it has "SAFE" technology....I am assuming the New SC has that set up. You can see video's on YouTube that shows the Glasair Sportsman and how the "SAFE" works on it, would tell me that is how it will affect the SC The ACT system was a fair idea but it did not work as it's design intended. So far the "SAFE" seems to be doing what it was designed to do. www.horizonhobby.com/products/glasair-sportsman-rtf-HBZ7600www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SlhPmj5OKUHope that helps ( again I assume that is what it is on the Cub ) I do not own one.

Yea, the SAFE tech is meant to stop it pitching and rolling excessively and also has a "panic button" that will return you to flat and level flight no matter what. The SAFE has 3 settings on, on more and off by the looks of things.
So it would appear to be quite sophisticated. Much more so than ACT. This stability thing, AC3x, I've seen on other models too.
I can't help thinking that the whole point of learning with the cub was its stability and ease of flying if you take it easy... And that all this software assistance just gets in the way. On the other hand, if it attracts people to the hobby, it can't be a bad thing.

On the other hand, if it attracts people to the hobby, it can't be a bad thing. I do not think anything that helps gets in the way.( my opinion )..over time everyone moves along and grows in their hobby. But to have something that allows them the confidence to fly with less struggle to me is a good thing. I read many arguments over SAFE and Gyro's and all that how it affects someones learning to fly "Proper" ...and yet I have never seen 2 people fly exactly alike. Even when taught by another person, they tend to fly their own way after a bit. And as we have discussed on this forum on many subjects it is rare if ever to find 2 people with the exact same opinion about any given subject. You can ask someone and get multiple answers , and one swears they are correct and the other does the same. Some forums have such huge arguments and if you disagree with someone that treat you like you committed a crime and like your the dumbest person who ever breathed air....( that does not happen here on this one ) To me Proper is what makes YOU comfortable and at ease and stress free. It may cost you a few crashes or issues in learning what that "proper" is to you, but everyone from the Novice to one who has flown for decades crashes at some point , for some reason....everyone continues to learn and that "Proper" for them because a Norm. What is "Proper " for you may not be what is "Proper" for me . Some may disagree with that, but that's Ok and they have a right to their opinion as well and to me that is a good thing. And if that "Proper Norm " is having to use SAFE or Gyro's or Virtual Instructors whatever the plane has installed and they feel comfortable with, and they are having fun....than that has to be what is Proper Flight for them. Maybe another person does not need anything and then that is "Proper" for them. Both are having fun and enjoying what they do.....and Ultimately, isn't that all that matters ?
