Hey from the Norfolk coast in England. I'm new to RC, and bought my SC LP bnf with a DX6i TX about a month ago.
The weather has been awful, so its been mostly the Phoenix sim that's been used but I've managed 3 flights in acceptable wind, the plane has remained undamaged after 3 rolling takeoffs and 3 "landings"... So I count that as winning.
Really loving the tips and tricks... The tape is going on the wing before the next flight.

Hiya Sham & welcome. Weather here in Cornwall been atrocious for months so only had a couple of flights like you. Taping the wings is a really good idea I got from here too. Great site with very helpful and knowledgeable people.

Welcome aboard, Sham. You seem to be doing remarkably well for an absolute beginner. Good luck for future flying.

Welcome aboard, Sham. You seem to be doing remarkably well for an absolute beginner. Not entirely sure about that. Taking off from the ground? Check. Flying in big lazy circles, climbing and descending on throttle and basic manoeuvres at altitude? Check. But, I've been flying with the dreaded ACT on so far... Before I found this place. Next flight it will be firmly off. I've yet to make a particularly successful landing, but I hope it will come. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate this weekend - but I doubt it

Landing can be one of the most difficult manouevres to master. Preferably land into wind. Bring her in gently, gently, juggling speed and nose-up to lose height while keeping her straight. On final stretch, give some 'flare' (pull back on right stick) to put her down gently. Easier said than done! (Flying in UK during this spell of atrocious weather? I would say no chance!)
