Hi,
My question is, what is the best way to remove the dihedral from the wing?
I have seen people heat it up (slightly) and put books etc to remove the dihedral, I have also seen people remove the middle bit (bent part about 7" wide), but this shortens the wing?
If you could let me know your thoughts I would be very grateful, I am open to doing it either way/another way if that is better?
I have 2 servos for the ailerons and a C/F rod for reinforcement.
Thanks Dan

Iam not suggesting this but every time I break a sc wing a across or near the dihedral, and glue it back the dihedral was less or gone

Hi, If you could let me know your thoughts I would be very grateful, I am open to doing it either way/another way if that is better? I have 2 servos for the ailerons and a C/F rod for reinforcement. Dan The wing is molded so wants to stay in that bent position. You need to relieve this stress. I haven't done this mod, but if I were to do it, I'd cut a small pie shaped wedge out of each side of the saddle right at the bend. Use a sharp razor and start with thin slices maybe 3/4 the way though. This is a 'by eyeball' operation. Then lay it curved side down and see how the wedge opening closes as you flatten it. You want it to need minimal force and.....just....close up as it flattens so the sides of the wedge meet but not keep the wing from laying flat. Once this is done hold it down flat with weights. Cut your C/F rod groove across the bottom at the CG spot on the wing. Coat rod and the cut out wedge with your glue choice. I prefer gorilla glue or 15-30" epoxy for this, NOT CA. Cover the repairs with painters (blue) tape. Flip over and lay it with the flat side down on a FLAT surface. This is important to minimize the risk of warp while setting up. Cover evenly with weight to make sure it stays even and flat until the glue is well cured. Remove painter tape. Now cover and reinforce with packing tape on the bottom if you like. You will have to make new struts as the old ones will be too long. If you do a 3/4-full length carbon rod you may not need struts at all.
