Fnarr, fnarr......'looking forward to getting it up!' Chortle..... Hi savage! Made me giggle a bit, thank you! Welcome to the club! may you have many wind free days, kind weather, rainless skies, good refexes, and absent locals.... enjoy your cub, it will teach you many things....chiefly that this isn't as easy as you think!

Welcome mate and I too wish you all the things toff did; you wont get 'em all very often, if at all but no harm in wishing and hoping. :-)

i also bought a champ ,so i can beet on it first, Blows away in ANY wind, otherwise a decent trainer. A few folks have tried to see how far away they can fly it. Not a good idea as it's a short range transmitter.

My First Flight was with the Champ...love that little plane.....Own Two of them as a matter of fact....if nothing else the Champ helps a novice learn the controls and orientation, which is most of the battle.
A Sim is Great to a point, But nothing like actual flying.
I have flown the Champ in some pretty strong winds ( not recommended ) but it is a challenge, one which caused me to have a hard crash that actually did it some damage.
But it helped allot when flying the SC. They are different and handle somewhat different, but flying the Champ first sure helped in ways a Simulator just can not do. Sim is docile and planes almost fly themselves...real life not the case at all
Welcome to the SC Club mtsavage...just a note tho.....one thing is for sure Super Cubs Love tall tree's....they are attracted to them like a magnet, and those tree's love to reach out and entice them to....
have Fun.

Welcome to the group and I say everything everyone else already said. It's an awesome club and an awesome plane. This SCC is the best place I have ever came across for info. I'm a newbie as well, and these people on here are great. Hope to see a pic or two to how your doing. Have fun and enjoy!
