Finally the weather let me do my first flight today under the guidance of a club instructor (2 flights in fact) Take off and landing yet to come as it was still a bit breezy around 10mph. :-) After quite a few hours practising on a sim while it rained or blew a gale it was a bit harder than I thought but easier than it might have been. Seems a good club with very helpful members, rather like here but in person. Reckon I've got the bug, can't wait for next time. :-)

It's great that at last you've been able to take off, sailor. Also pleasing to note that you have a guru helping you, which for my money is the least painful way to learn. For the first time in weeks, it's very light wind and no rain today in Southampton - but our flying field resembles a paddy field after so much rain, so still no good for flying. Hope you manage to get some in today. Well, you're off to a good start. Onwards and upwards, matey!

Cold and Snow here....suppose to be around zero again....so no flying here for another few months. I been using the SIM Allot lately myself. Glad you finally got to enjoy your CUB.
