Hope you've all had a very merry Christmas ( with Santa bringing aviation inspired goodies, rather than socks and hankies ). Apologies for not joining in for a few months now, but I had a period of 'reflection', whereby I really haven't been able to fly ( due to work, mood, weather and general f**kwittery.. ) Honestly thought I was going to hang up the old DX6i, as I had lost the 'spirit' of flying.....until I got a viperjet from Santa ( well, technichally still on order, as it's still at dover at the moment.. ) ...But it does have the wemotec fan and motor option ....FAST..>>> ( bless you, Rachel!! ....erm, I mean Mrs Claus!). After quite a while without any sort of flying fix, today was perfect, so myself and Mr.Squeaks went for a spin.....wonderful! 50 pure minutes of flying bliss...Quite surprised to find I can roll and fly inverted with a 3 channel plane, after months without flying... well, until Mr.Squeaks was blinded by the winter sun and flew into a goalpost! Silly Mr.Squeaks! Next time he'll remember to wear sunglasses when flying! Told you! It was the squirrels fault! No harm done, and fixed with 5 minute epoxy... right as rain now! This is what santa has brought me: tomahawk-design.com/produkte/modelle/foam-models/edf-viper-jet/and Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN8zXW8lP04Hope you all had a good one!!! Chris.

Nice to hear from you again, Chris. I thought perhaps you'd gone Down Under with CH, possibly looking after his new personal secretary when she's not sitting on his right hand or taking something down for him. That Viper looks a nifty bird. I once ordered a Viper from Germany but after take-off it simply swung from side to side, side to side, all the time. Eventually I telephoned Germany and asked Hans in Customer Services to explain. "Ah, so sorry, mein Herr," he said. "Ve haf sent you a Vindscreen Viper by mistake . . . " From all of which you will gather that I have imbibed rather generously of Christmas spirit - mainly Famous Grouse whisky. Hope it's not too early to wish you and all our many SCC friends a very happy and healthy New Year, with light winds and clear skies.
