When you purchase RC equipment online and out of the country or even in your country , have you ever watched it's progress and how it travels before it gets to you ?
I have done that many times here in the states and from over seas packages.
It amazes me how many states they will travel to before they get to mine.
Recently I purchased at Hobby King, their International site, which is in Hong Kong.
The package still has not arrived. Now I live on the East Coast in the U.S., the package comes to JFK Airport and a place in NY called Jamaica that distributes it.
It went from there to New Jersey, and then all the way to Indiana, and then down to Kentucky and then back up to Ohio, notice I live in West Virginia .
In my mind and by looking at the maps, it would make sense to me to go from New York , through New Jersey, down through Pennsylvania to my State again which is WV.....
......BUT, they had to Cross Pennsylvania and Ohio to get it to Indiana and from there shipped it down to Kentucky and then back to Ohio..so now where will it go ? It's become anyone's guess. Know wonder we pay so much for shipping.....their routes take the packages to countless States for no reason at all. How many Receiving Centers and Plane and truck changes has it made? How many handlers have handle the fragile package before it finally gets to us ?
I followed some packages from the West Coast to the East here in the States and have seen that same strange route travel. Most Interstates run through every State and all States have airports, so why the long way around shipping ? One may never know !!
