Is three channel flight now pointless?
Now why someone would ask that or think that i have no clue. Most responses were all over the place as usual.
So I thought I would post it here and see what others have to say, seeing how the SC comes 3 channel stock.
I personally like 3 channel planes . I enjoy flying them. I have many planes that have 4 and more. But, I have and am in the process of setting them up to use Rudder-Aileron as One channel...thus making a 4 channel , a 3 channel.
I like being able to input a turn and have both aileron and rudder respond without using both sticks to get it right. My issue with inverting planes ( for some reason i have yet to understand fully), has lead to me believe if I set them on the same channel that will be less likely to occur. So in essence ( or in control input ) It becomes a 3 Channel plane. Until I get far more experience and decide to fly a little more aggressive and do all sorts of aerobatics and things , I like how the plane is set up that way. I have set that on a switch that allows me the flexibility as I get better and more brave to switch that setting off and then back on when needed. My left thumb is very heavy and using it can be difficult to control rudder without over doing it. I like just lazy flying and scale type flights.
So I will be flying 3 channel planes for years to come seeing how I own many of them. I started out in RC with 2 channel planes, so to me 3 channel is a large step up and much more enjoyable. One would be amazed how being able to control the throttle is such a Blessing . I never had that pleasure before. One would turn it on and it was wide open and slowed as fuel depleted or battery power weakened, which in my case never got to happen,a crash Always came first before a empty tank or the battery drained. Watching Balsa wood hit the ground wide open was a sight, and scared you to death...and then made you cry as months and sometimes years of work shattered, in a gazillion pieces.
So, that is my take on it, I believe 3 channel planes will always remain and to me will always be in my hanger, I like them and really would not have it any other way.
What's your view about it ?
