Hi all. The joy of my life for the last few years has been biking but having had a couple of 'offs' this year I thought it time to look for something that if I crash then I don't get get hurt. It so happened that a couple of Sundays ago we rode to meet a couple of friends who are into r/c planes and I got hooked just watching and talking. So, lots of Googling and Youtubes and I plumped for the Super Cub to begin with and wind permitting, this Sunday I'll be getting my first flight, with an instructor, at the club. Done a lot of practising on a Sim but realise that's a lot different to the real thing. Seems a good useful and friendly sounding site here so I look forward to getting to know a few of you and gaining knowledge.

Thanks for the welcome, the SC had her maiden flight under the control of the instructor, looked great. Unfortunately the wind was gusting quite a bit so he said best not have a go myself as he was struggling somewhat. Ah well just have to wait but not looking for next couple of weeks.

Hi, sailor! Thanks for following my posts, and welcome aboard! Hope you manage to have a good time with your cub. You are very lucky to have a trainer with you...you'll be flying solo in no time! If the news is correct, the weather down there is vile at the moment, so please, stay safe. However...here in Gods own country ( The wonderful, beautiful and ( at the moment...) wind free county of Yorkshire is a superb place to fly! (Are you jealous yet? Disclaimer: all efforts are made to make Yorkshire a wonderful and beautiful place, however, travellers are advised against going to Bradford, which is a complete S.H.I.T-hole, and all claims of wonderful and beautiful end at Huddersfield and start again north of Leeds, towards skipton, Oley, York and Ripon..thank you!)
