I was reading my manual to see what I may pick up by sheer accident and then I happened across a brief mention of hooking up the struts to the plane. It is an almost non-existent explanation in the manual, so I had always made the assumption that how I had done it was correct and not given much thought that it would be otherwise. Those pesky plastic struts are very hard on my eyes in seeing the embossing on them that says R or L. I had always assumed that the right and left sides of an RC plane would be the same as my sidecar rig, in that the direction would be taken from the person sitting on the motorcycle seat and not someone facing the motorcycle. Example: My right handle bar is to my right and not to someone's right as they are out in front of the bike. Does that hold true for the SC on the wings, as well? I had assumed that it did, but would like to be sure for future reference.
Sounds a bit silly, but the manual never made it clear. Heck, I could have asked something more important here, such as, "Dear fellows, can you please tell me if my paper airplane is brushless or brushed?" :-)
I ask this silly newbie question, as I am reading about another manufacturer's manual regarding the proper placement of a prop on a pusher plane. believe me, it can quickly get confusing as to the 30 different explanations by the quasi-experts at another forum in explaining such. They seem to forget that facing front means on thing on one plane and perhaps something else on another.

Coupe, I have been flying the SC for quite a few years and had never realised until now that the struts were L and R handed! Since you mention it, I have studied the struts and the only difference appears to be that the hooks on one side face forwards, the others rearwards. So, as my old granny used to say, WTF is that all about? Until one of the more clever members comes along with the correct answer, my advice would be: forget the L and R, just whack on those struts however you fancy. That's what I have always done, without problem. (Actually, I cut off those pesky hooks and replace them with wire paper clips. So much easier! )

Yeah, I understand the paper clip idea, but I was wondering about the original stock orientation for them, as they may be shorter at one side or designed the way they are for a specific purpose. Putting my right one onto the right side of the wing puts those hooks facing outward at the points, so I believe that is the correct orientation for them. I have all four attachment hooks secured lightly and threaded through the hole there with a naked bread tie twisty. Again, I believe it is correct as is, but just checking this out for myself. Thanks for the info. Mine are stock and I lock them down on the fuselage with the eye bolt setup (That is, if I don't stupidly forget to do that as I did one time, so far). :-) I've never had any problems with the hooks popping out since the bread ties were used on them. The struts move freely, but have never jumped out of their attachment loops.
