I read somewhere and i thought here on this forum somewhere anyway.... someone either posted about winds and or gave a link
Something along the lines of wind speed
example; if a flag is moving the wind is so and so MPH and or the tree tops it is whatever MPH...and so on
Does anyone remember it or read it ?
I thought I had copied it, but can not locate it. It was a good article or post.
The winds have been blowing allot her the past few weeks. We even got some snow and it has been very cold Some days it has only been in the 30's and very windy, nights are really cold. Seems winter arrived early to give us a jolt. This coming week is suppose to warm up some and get back into the 50's and maybe some low 60's and sunny.
But around here when the sun shines the winds blow. Seems the only calm days are on rainy days . Crazy weather we have here in these Mountains sometimes.
Anyway if anyone remembers that wind post, please let me know
Thank You.

Well, according to the UK weather office, a 'storm' seems to consist of light wind and a bit of rain......

Well, according to the UK weather office, a 'storm' seems to consist of light wind and a bit of rain...... Ah, count yourself lucky then Toff, I am glad you are out of it with the storm. Trees down all over the county here, a boy missing at sea, roads blocked, houses damaged, cars crushed by trees. It is much less than that terrible time in 1987, but pretty awful for some nevertheless. Having taken part in rescues and retrieving bodies at sea in my old job, you never forget those times and the awesome power of nature. Keep well. All the best, CH.

I am aware ( now) of the serious problems caused by this event. I was referring to my own small patch of Gods country. Having been blessed thus, Yorkshire is the safest place in the world. Could be a new slogan for us...'Does God love you? Then move to Yorkshire!'
Stay safe, one and all.....

Oh, Toff my friend, Be careful now, mentioning God, some people aren't happy with that, LOL. You might be required to go back and live in Bradford. No, surely no-one would wish that upon you! Not me of course, I actually think that he (oh, more controversy) is taking care of you up in Yorkshire, whilst being beastly to those of us down south. Ah, hghost, weather in the mountains eh? I am looking forward to being in the Blue Mountains of Australia very soon, sun, heat and no English winter. No offence meant to anyone, honest guv!
