So, the albatros is quite the spectacular showman, but i felt that having just the enemy wasn't fair so I went ahead and got it's adversary the Parkzone S.E.5a. Classic WWI biplane pair.
I'm thinking I've got enough for a little while. Again, if anyone has this one or the albatros DVa I'd like to chat about upgrades, tips, and tricks.
Happy flying friends around the world.

I have been flying the SE5a for some time now. My brother (who I trained with a buddy box) is flying the Albie. We'll fly together in January......fun airplanes for sure.

i'm really looking forward to getting up there with my bipes. get this though, the S.E.5a arrived friday evening and the esc was fried and the wing mounts on one side of the upper wing were glued in backwards!
now i've got to go through the back n forth emails with horizon hobby and amazon, ship the darn thing back, wait for it to get back there, wait for a new one to be shipped to me.... smokes coming out my ears.

I saw your posts at RC Groups. Tough break, but things will fall into place. Horizon Hobby has a good reputation. Right now my brother is in a conundrum. Wing struts for the Albatross are out of stock, and THAT'S what he broke. Go figure! It will all work out in due time...... The more planes in your hangar, the less down time, just go fly something else for now.

spindeepster,
thanks for your kind words. i flew the albatros yesterday and it was quite an experience. totally different from my t28 yet totally awesome at the same time.
horizon hobby has shipped me a full replacement at no shipping cost immedeately upon receiving electronic notification of my original model dropped off at ups.
i'll be receiving the replacement this week potentially before the lemon is back in their facility. what a great customer service department they have there.
question for ya. does the S.E.5a drag its tail in the turns as much as the Albatros does? i'm working on coordinating the rudder input heavy to steer through turns with the simulator and the Albatros. i'll get it down pat for sure, just curious to hear your thoughts and techniques.
i found wing struts for your brother at f1hobbies online. they are a UK based shop, and appear to be the only place in the world (literally) that has not listed them as out of stock.
