Rudder came out of the plastic slot while I was banked hard left. When I lost rudder the plane went straight down.
Tore the nose off at point of a previous repair and broke the motor mount. Amazingly the prop was fine though the shaft was slightly tweaked.
Working on repairs as I type.

Any pics of the actual damage? Just wondering if your tail wing was as loose as mine was and may have contributed...Good luck on the repairs.

I hate to be the one who asks the obvious question, the rudder was glued into the plastic slot wasn't it? Sorry, don't mean to say that you are stupid, just an easy thing to overlook in our excitement to get in the air. Or perhaps it came loose from earlier mishap?

you think that was hard! I hit the flight station so hard with another plane that the cowl was in bazillion parts, the motor mount was in one place, and the motor in another the nose wheel was gone, and the battery had spilt open

If asked by the FAA I would have to say I was not sure that it was... But since this isn't an FAA Board of Inquiry I will say there is a definite possibility it was not properly secured.
