I know my super cub can't handle a 14.4v but I'm considering purchasing the dynam tiger moth which does use that battery. My question is can the included charger that balances 3 cell lipos effectively and safely charge a 14.4v whopper, or will I have to buy an expensive charger in addition to the potential next plane?

Actually as a point of fact it probably can handle 14.4v. It's not volts (mostly) that kill motors, it's amps. So, if you down-propped appropriately to keep the amps in the 10-13Amp range you could probably do it.
But, the HZ charger absolutely will not suffice. It's only good to 3S Expensive charger? Not necessarily, but you will need to get something that will do 4S AND either an integrated power source or a separate one. I suggest the separate one. My 'cheap' choice is the Acucell-6 and a 5-10A power supply. Do NOT get the ECO-6 or IMAX-B6 as those both have a lot more problems even if they are cheaper.

Thanks FD. That's what I was thinking in regard to the Hz charger capabilities. As per your recommendation I'll look those suggested chargers up and go from there. Thanks man.
