Just wondering if anyone had done a scratch built in this manner? Seems pretty cheap and easy to do. link

$1.00 for the foam board at the Dollar Store and the technique works. Remember, I said "scratch built" plane and not necessarily a Super Cub. It does have a drawback though. If you paint it with the typical Krylon paint that does work on z-foam, the Krylon paint will melt the Dollar Store foam. I made up a float camera mount in a wing-like structure with this method. It turned out well, except it got ruined when painted with the Krylon Dual paint and primer. It took only a few minutes to rebuild another and play about with the stuff. I was not suggesting to try to build a wing specifically for the SC though. This camera mod works well with my floats, but should be trimmed down to only the width of the camera instead of the larger width shown here. A key chain, Mobius or DR80 camera sits well on this diy mount.
