Recently discovered this British TV series on Netflix and it's a total screaming funny one! Was it popular in Britain while it was on?

Several of their episodes are on YouTube and they are indeed funny. I watched the first episode which is the fire skit and laughed, as it brought back memories of when my family was eating at the local Dairy Queen in Vernon, Tx., back in the early 90's. Smoke started billowing out from the kitchen area and into the dining area. I immediately removed family and went to help. When I entered the kitchen, there were 3 employees all standing around the stove that was smoking to beat the band. The fire extinguisher was right beside it, but no one did a thing. I asked them why they were just standing about and doing nothing. Believe me, they were as casual as could be and made no effort to do anything. One worker then told me that their boss had gotten onto all of them earlier and told them to not do anything ever again unless she approved it, first. Of course, their boss was not there and had not answered her phone when they called to tell her about the fire. I left these dummies and took my family away from the nuttiness of that DQ. When we drove past a few weeks later, the place was shut down and was later sold off to some other business. The fire episode really made me laugh, as those employees were virtually of the same mentality as that employee in the episode. :-)
