There are likely other ways to do this type of mod, but this is what I did. After doing the mod though, I decided my next pair of skirts will use some twisty ties from a loaf of bread, instead of the thread. The twist ties add no weight at all and are actually easier to manipulate and get on tight. I remove the wrapping to the twist ties and the wires are thin, but strong enough for this application.
