I have been flying my super cub LP on floats, what a great first plane it has been! I live in Minnesota so soon enough my lake will be 18 inches thick with ice and snow. If conditions allow and we get a good ice freeze and winds don't create some Huge wind rows well I wanna be ready with skis. I have seen people fly on snow with their floats but don't want to do that. I saw some park flyer skis, about 6 inches long maybe 1.5 inches wide, anyone have experience with them? Or any good ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks Bob

Hi, I'm a new cub flyer and I put the skis on mine and had 2 successful flights today. Purchased the skis at local hobby shop.

Those are the exact same ones I have and when installed properly they have a natural angle with the tips up.

Yesterday and today would have been great for skis down here. The frozen ice here is slippery, for sure. I watched out my window as a car almost took out my mailbox as it slid backwards on my street. Near miss, but later in the evening my neighbor had her car drift out of her driveway on her hill and right out into the road, again, inches from our mailbox on the other side of the road. I hope it warms up tomorrow, as my wife has to travel by car to Houston tomorrow. She could not even get out of the driveway today, as the car kept fishtailing all over the drive.
No flying for me in this weather, so it is time to spend in just doing some minor soldering projects for my other plane. At least the cold give the impression that it may be near Christmas. We seldom have snow on Christmas down here. It is not really snow here presently, but really just an ice storm with some dusting. Cold enough to make my old bones shiver though. Our house was without power for several hours yesterday and last night. That was no fun at all, but our fireplace helped a bit. When I chipped off the ice from my wife's car, my hands too an hour to gain back the feeling and that was no fun to feel at all. Glad to be inside today. :-)
