Has anyone purchased the the apprentice s 15 e with SAFE technology? If so, how do you like it? Is SAFE technology as worthless and detrimental as ACT? Is it in Stock anywhere? Does it come in a BNF version?

There seems to be a fine line between a stock SC, The Apprentice and a warbird. The Apprentice was originally my next choice after the cub but was just to big to fit in my car. The wingspan was wider than my doors and trunk. I would really recommend a flying simulator before seriously upgrading to a warbird. If I was to start from scratch, the Apprentice is what I wished for if I had the space. Seems that it has 3 modes: beginner, intermediate and full out. The Apprentice seems to have better technology than the crashing ACT. I would love to hear other's opinions as well.

I do not own or have flown one of these, however..it seems like a nicely put together plane, looks good, and ( from what I've seen on youtube, it looks the business!) ....that said, I'm always distrustful of youtube reviews due to A) are they in hobbyzone/ parkzone/ eflite's pocket? and B) these are usually experienced RC pilots testing a beginners plane. The apprentice is relatively new, so there are not that many newbie first flight reviews, that I would deem trustworthy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGm45561tbwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=onQWKoiYkT4Second ones a bit crap, but both survived total newbies first flights. As a step up from the SC, seems to be a good progression. Introduces 4 channel flight, which is good, but, from where I am now, I would not trust the SAFE technology ( it's probably just an update of the dark/ light sensor on ACT). Your money, your choice. I personally dislike the BUY, BUY, BUY philosophy ( due to the fact I'm from YORKSHIRE, and hate spending money!) After teaching me, and many mods and upgrades ( despite many, many crashes), my SC is now a semi, very overpowered, aerobat, capable of just about everything I can think of ( except a decent roll!). You have a wonderful learning tool in your grasp, don't discard it for the next best thing, until you know what this one can do!

Thanks toff. I like your perspective. I'm not ready to buy anything at this point as like you said, I need to explore all the super cub has to offer. I am however, going to get the phoenix simulator to use with my dx6i to practice at night and on poor weather days. I'd like to get really comfortable with my existing hangar, and learn ailerons without destroying something I'm not yet ready for. Great advice as usual and thanks again.
