I am new to this site and believe me, there is a ton of great information to pick and choose from with each message thread. Very quickly, I can almost recognize some of the long term posters by the content of what they say vs an avatar, but one thing that sort of frustrates me already is the fact that so many people choose to use the exact same avatar of the alien. I have to chronically keep looking to see which person is actually making a post and sometimes it tricks my memory bank of believing that I can almost tell who it is without looking. Maybe I am just too anal to not suggest such, but is there any way to encourage people to use a different avatar than just the stock ones that so many choose?
This is just a suggestion or thought to ponder and not meant to offend anyone by suggesting such.

It's a personal preference, and using the stock avatars is far easier than loading one up onto photobucket, resizing, and then uploading to the forum. I change mine quite frequently, but I've got loads to go at!

Yes, actually it does and I have already viewed many of your posts. My admiration to anyone who can paint. I bought all the Bob Ross videos and all back in the early 80's to try my hand. My wife was most appreciative when I got rid of all of it, as my abilities were simply that of a 3rd grader with a melted crayon. Bob never explained how to clean up an easel. so I was chronically getting oil paint onto the remote as I switched the video on and off as I made those whispy little clouds on my canvas. Also, he failed to tell me that oil paint takes about a hundred million years to dry. :-)
As to doing this on the board, this was just a suggestion and not a directive by any means. Nothing I'd get upset over, either way. I'm sort of laughing about all the bald headed aliens shown as avatars, as I at least still have more hair than any of them..............but not by much. :-)

Ah Dear old Bob, Once seen, who could forget his happy little clouds?
As for how long it takes to get good at painting? Well, thirty years and you will start to get there!
Happy flying my friend.
PS I know what you mean about the hair, but Sigourney Weaver in Alien? Yes please.

Changed just for you, my lord CH!! LMAO! I love it. She looks just like one of our helpers on the farm. I tell you Toff, we would have a darn good laugh and a beer (or ten) if ever we meet! You are seriously funny, or is that an oxymoron?

You know, having changed my avatar, I now can't stop staring at it......T.O.T.T.Y!!! phwooar!!! Bless you for that new avatar, Chris! She was never better than in Alien in her younger days, although I still treasure the memory of her as the President's wife in 'Dave', dressed in a pure white silk blouse . . .

She's now 64 years old, but, even to this day, I still find her far more attractive than many of the newer models (bear in mind I'm 41). To a certain extent, I suppose she represents the 'thinking' mans totty ( a bit like Carol Voderman- when she was on countdown). Hmmmm.....Idea for a new quiz....Hotty or notty. ( yes, my Lord CH, beer inspired, but, I think this one would work!) Look at the new thread!

I still look wonderful though, at least in Lady CH's eyes and that of all the servants I employ (the female ones of course, we don't want to frighten the horses) I still have the earrings, but only wear them on special occasions.
