Howdy from Texas, fellows. My name is Huey and I just ordered my new Cub from Hobby Zone, yesterday. I plan to do some paint mods before I get too far along with learning to fly it. My dogs and I ride a motorcycle with a sidecar and it was done in a Taxi Dog theme just recently. I hope to paint the Cub in an orange, black and white color pattern, with some decals that go with the Dog Taxi theme of my bike. It has been back in the early 70's when I last flew anything. We didn't have the battery powered stuff back then, so I was chronically cussing over props snapping into my fingers back then and the gas burning them on any cuts. Ouch! :-) Any rate, I have been burning my eyes out in reading up on all the Cub info at this site and others. I am greatly appreciative of the tips sections as I am essentially a newb at flying an RC plane. For cameras, I have a GoPo, two key chain 808 cameras and a Mobius (My favorite of the small video cams). I am chronically making diy camera mounts and will be glad when my Cub arrives so I can check out a few ideas I have in mounting my Mobius for video. I am surprised that so many of the linked photos here at this site are either no longer available, removed or the links simply no longer work. I am looking at all and trying to sort out some things I want to do prior to even my first flight of my new Cub. Any rate, here is a photo of my Dog Taxi and my hack pooch, Murphy, so you can at least get some idea as to what the new Cub may look like, too.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your new SC.
I love the Dog Taxi - although Murphy appears to be undecided about riding in it!

Thanks for the welcome, but believe me, Murph isn't undecided at all. He has been riding for years and is my buddy, my pal and my confidant. He and Dusty both ride very well as hack buds. He is my QA Inspector while I am rebuilding my Dog Taxi. :-)

I received notification yesterday that UPS will deliver my Cub next Tuesday. Lucky we have a local Hobby Town store where I can go over and perhaps drool over some wheels and other Cub mod parts for future purchases. Even found myself saving a popsicle stick for the infamous mod regarding that strengthening technique. I am still reading through all the various threads to see what words of wisdom and sage advise is there. Playing with both my Mobius and GoPro cameras to see about camera mount ideas that may be worth consideration once the plane is put together. The Mobius is actually 1/2 the weight of the naked GoPro. Got to go shopping for a table to do some assembly work on for the Cub, as my office table is cluttered to no end with camera stuff and small parts for my sidecar build. Guess I can say that my excitement is tempered with the realization that my Cub won't be new for long and crashing it is almost a rite of passage to some folk. I am still trying to understand just what each electric component is for and why, so that I can become more experienced with each. Yup, I started off just like any newb in asking questions at some of the older threads and all, but I am really finding myself excited about again entering into the world of small planes. I look forward to gaining the experience, both positive and negative. I find myself going automatically to this board these days, instead of the regular ones I used to frequent for hobbies. Great to have access to such.

Hi Huey. What did you fly back in the 70's?

A small gas powered helicopter and a couple of small gas powered planes, of which I don't really recall what they were. We altered the gas tank, which was a small square bin and put on some surgical IV tubing. The thing flew great for a prolonged period of time, until the tubing was eaten through by the fuel and the thing did a disappearing act for the last time. We probably lost that bird a dozen times in our neighborhood, but some good neighbor always brought it back to us. We also took kites with us to play with, just in case anything kept us from flying the chopper. It was fun with my kids back then. My daughter was surprised when I told her I had picked up my SC recently. She laughed and related stories of those times from her childhood. I don't recall the brand, model or anything all that specific from the chopper, but it was cheap to operate and a lot of fun back then. The props of the two planes would frequently nail your fingers as you spun them over. The fuel burned like hell, too if you had any nicks that it got into. When I go to the hobby store these days and see the prop starters there, I sort of laugh at the memories of those past experiences when we really knew just about nothing of having such.
