I've been flying for about 2 weeks now. I love this plane, I tried to get started flying when I was 14. I built this rc plane kit. It was a piece of square PVC pipe with an aluminum tale and a nitro engine. It took about a week to build and about 2 weeks to get the engine running. I was so tired of trying to get it started that when it finally got started, I was so excited to fly I didn't care that a storm was coming in and there was about 30 mph gust of wind. Needless to say I crashed it to pieces. That turned me off of the whole thing for a while.
I'm now 29 and have this Super Cub and love it. My patients have matured and I don't fly unless there is little to no wind. I still crash a lot. I have gone through 2 firewalls, 1 gear box, 1 motor, broke the tail off, broke the fuselage in half twice, and the wing in two.
I was planing on getting rid of the wing struts and reinforcing the wing, but I decided to do one more flight since the glue would take about 24 hours to dry. I had already taken off the struts and was just doing some touch-n-goes and the battery had enough for one more time around, so I decided to come in from the left, since I was having so much success with the other way, and nailed a light pole, that I was sure I was going to clear. Anyway long story short(too late for that) I started the strengthening of the wing, after I glued it back together. I will be posting the rebuild in the crash section later tonight.
