OK so i have been sitting on this for a few days, and now its time to post about it,
My beloved Visionaire is currently, well..... in pieces, and many of them, and before you say anything, no i wasn't being stupid, by flying it too low or between footy posts, (previous crash) i was just doing a little "normal" (yank & bank) flying with it, hadn't even warmed up for the 3D, when as i flew around over a set of buildings about 400-500m away it just pointed down towards the ground and decided that's where it wanted to be, so it went dead stick, completely dead.... i had been in the air a whole minute or 2, battery is only a month or 2 old, and was fully charged, my radio is a DX8 and i have never had any cut outs before, my only thought is that there may be something in the industrial buildings around where i was flying that may have caused interference, so question is... has anybody ever had any kind of interference when they were flying that would cause such a pain,
On a side note, when i did eventually locate my Visionaire, although i kind of wish i hadn't, there was a lot of cursing going on, i could control it, well what was left of it, lol, the front end was completely ripped apart, and the back section of the fuse damaged, the battery hatch was snapped in 3 places, both wings badly damaged, the cowl ruined, couldn't find any of the spinner or other half of the prop, so some pics will be up soon,
Now for the damage bill:
- New Fuselage (front end completely snapped off, kink in rear section and nice big crack near rudder)
- New Main Wing Set (both damaged)
- New Control Rods for Rudder & Elevator
- New Prop & Spinner
- New Prop Adapter,
otherwise, tested servo's and all appear ok, tested motor and it looks and sounds good, tested receiver (range tested as well) and again no issues found, Tail Wing set & Rudder ok, so can re-use these, funny its probably the only part of the plane i can re-use, oh that and the landing gear,
So i am bummed about it but i just think, lucky it wasn't my PA Bandit, i would have really cried,
So i will let you know how it ends up, but i still love my Visionaire, even after the pain she is putting me through now,
