hi I bought a hz cub a 1 year ago & proceded to crash & replace parts. joined a club got some help. the buddy box has saved me for more than a few crashes. then I bought a champ so I could fly more (my club's field is 45 min away) helped a lot. now when the wind is calm I can fly my cub at the ball field where I fly my champ. my cub is stock except for the wheels I used multiplex funcub wheels much easier to take off & land properly. I will post pics &other stuff as I get used to using this computer

I keep telling people the buddy box with some experienced help is the way to go. The new learning track seems to be to do it yourself though.

I keep telling people the buddy box with some experienced help is the way to go. The new learning track seems to be to do it yourself though. Okay to say that fly, but some people don't have the option of buddy box help. And whilst I know that club help is the most cost effective method for learning, time is also a factor. My 'local' club is 45 minutes away - that's 1.5 hours just to travel. If I was lucky, I might get an hours tuition. So..2.5 hours plus faffing around. Call it 3 hours. I usually only have an hour or so spare at the moment due to work and family, and have had for the last 6 months or so. Factor in the UK's previously awful weather.... Solo learning isn't a fashion statement, it's trying to make the great leap when no one is there to support you. Zoltron, good luck with it. I'm truly glad you have some help and support, and hope you fall in love with RC flying as much as we have.

I bought the champ so I could get some stick time 2 blocks from my house. it flies just like my sc only needsa lot less room. I'm already hopelessly hooked. I have a guillows lancer in the making (3 channel).I have about 7 free flight balsa kits that I will make rc. I want to keep balsa & tissue planes so people can see how it used to be

Having attempted in the past to make one of their kits (FW190, I think), the way I would describe the way it used to be as 'fiddly'!

I taught myself too fly with the red cub, and I got pretty good at it, until took a few lesson from my clubs trainner now I fly much better. My club has two fields one for electrics only, that I fly at the other field is for both fuel, and electric the electric field is 6 miles from were I live the other is 52 miles round tip
