Hey, Just maidened my cub and I love it. I didnt even try the act but it did get bumped on causing me to make an emergency landing because I thought the battery plug wasent connecting.
So the main question is, can I remove the act sensors as long as I keep act off? Are they pressure fitted or glued in? Thanks for any advice. rcbif

Gratz on the maiden, rcbif! DEFINATELY jerk the wires on the ACT. They just unplug from the transmitter. Tape them to the side of the fuse in the radio bay so they don't get hung up in the servos. Now if you throw the ACT switch it will just reduce your control rates. Got mine set up that way and it works fine. M

I agree with mararra, you don't need to remove them just unplug them.

just rip them out from the outside with needle nose pliers, less mess inside the plane

just rip them out from the outside with needle nose pliers, less mess inside the plane I did this, a small circle of black electrical tape on the windshield hole and it's hardly noticeable, plus less crap floating around in the battery box/RX area, I moved my RX to the side, did the vertical mount mod to my battery box and things are nice and neat. Taped the RX antenna along the left side of the fuselage. Oh, also I don't forsee any dropping in my future, so I completely removed that cable and connector as well. Nice and neat inside now!

rcbif, May I say that it is wonderful to see a female forumite in this somewhat male dominated obsession. Things look good and tidy inside, however a couple of thoughts if you don't mind me voicing them. Please do the rear saddle mod, it does not take long and will prolong the life of your Cub and wing. Also, your servo arms do not look quite centralised in a neutral position (it might be my old eyes, if it is please forgive me). Jolly good picture by the way. I am so glad that you had a successful maiden flight, please take note of flydiver's excellent advice to check your aircraft after an emergency landing. When you have a moment, would you be kind enough to update your profile showing your location? I have an idea that you might be an American lady, I have been known to be wrong, but only on one or two occasions. I wish you sunny and windless days and happy landings!. ;D

As it is too windy to fly, and I have tomorrow off, I will indeed do the wing saddle mod! I guess your first part of the post was directed to rcbif. I'm assuming the rest was a reflection on my post and picture?

Ah, the magistrate....back in the day......explaining yourself to some appointed official for something you should have never let yourself get caught doing in the first place.
